Welcome to the 21st International Probabilistic Workshop (IPW 2025)
We are delighted to invite you to the 21st International Probabilistic Workshop (IPW 2025), scheduled to take place from September 10-12, 2025, in the historic city of Rostock, Germany.
Building on the rich tradition of its predecessors, IPW 2025 will once again serve as a premier international platform for scholars, practitioners, and students.
The IPW series, which began in 2003 in Dresden, Germany, has grown into a global event that travels across various countries, fostering collaboration among experts from diverse fields of engineering and science.
From its early days in Germany to its most recent gathering in Portugal, the workshop has been pivotal in engaging its audience with the latest advancements in various methodological aspects of risk, probability and reliability and their wide-ranging civil engineering applications.
As we convene in Rostock, a city known for its rich maritime history and vibrant academic community, and a University with Tradition since 1419 but a very young and current civil engineering curriculum, IPW 2025 promises to offer a stimulating environment where ideas flow freely, old colleagues meet again, and new partnerships are forged.
Whether you are an experienced scientist or a doctoral student, you will find IPW 2025 to be a welcoming space for rigorous intellectual exchange and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Although the workshop program warmly welcomes contributions on any topics related to probability in civil and infrastructure engineering, this year's highlighted themes reflect specific evolving challenges and innovations in the field.
We are particularly focusing on the integration of advanced statistical techniques, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) methods, as well as precise uncertainty assessment.
Additionally, the program will spotlight the modeling of extreme events and the increasing importance of climate resilience in the entire life-cycle of built infrastructure.
We look forward to your participation in what is sure to be an inspiring and productive workshop, continuing the tradition of excellence that defines the International Probabilistic Workshop series.
This event is accredited under the Continuing Education Regulations of the Chamber of Engineers of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
